Self Assessment of unique strengths as a process consultant:
I have special skills in connecting the cognitive with the body. I like to assist people's understanding of themselves and others through other modalities of taking in and receiving information by using exercises or scores that engage people physically such as: bringing awareness of sensation from their own bodies, moving people into groups or formations that generate dialogue differently, encouraging people to take on opposite perspectives in exchanging
physical places, looking at emotional charges through mindfulness, exaggeration, etc.
I also have extensive experience in bringing in "play" (new games, singing, movement work) as a tool for co-operative problem solving, bringing connectedness and spirit to hard and agitated situations and general community
building.
I utilize my skills as a therapist to help look at deeper themes that sometimes get overlooked by general themes or vice versa, help to sort out what is someone's personal work versus the collective's work.

My private practice centers in movement. I use, exercise, movement exploration, verbal guidance, voice work, and touch to facilitate self-awareness, movement ease, and enhanced expression. I combine my education as an exercise physiologist, teacher of Body-Mind Centering, Certified Laban Movement Analyst, registered somatic movement therapist, with a Doctorate in Movement Science and Education to meet the specific needs of clients. As a performer and educator I enjoy the spontaneous interplay of meeting and working with new people and themes. I also draw on my training in diverse holistic practices such as nutrition and massage therapy to inform my referrals to other skilled professionals. I am delighted to work with infants and their parents, as well as children, working professionals, and elders, who come for sessions with a wide variety of goals.

A Message from One Workshop Participant: "Dear Peggy--I attended your 'Dancing From Your Core' workshop at the University of Minnesota (sponsored by our state Dance Educator's Coalition) a few weeks ago. Thank you for providing such an incredible environment for self-discovery and insight. You facilitated with such grace and acceptance yet I felt challenged and stimulated to examine some very difficult inner territory. So many light bulbs have popped on in recent weeks. Amazing to realize that we know so much in our bodies but recognize so little." Mary Pettit, Minneapolis, 2003
